Origin of Helical Coronal Disturbances From the Sun

Abstract

In order to predict geoeffective solar disturbances, is necessary to monitor the solar activity, especially initiation of flares and CMEs (coronal mass ejections). of many coronal activities involved with the large-scale in the coronal volume, we report rotating prominences signify a launch of CMEs without any flare activity. prominences are spinning at speeds of several hundreds km/s moving on the solar surface with projected speeds of > tens km/s, just like a tornado. simultaneous observations in microwaves (Nobeyama radioheliograph; and white-light (SoHO/LASCO coronagraph), we discuss relationship between the prominences and the CMEs regarding helical structures and upward motions.
