Are the EIT waves really waves?

Abstract

Four sample of EIT waves are presented and discussed. The bright front of these waves present a stationnary behaviour. A model of these phenomenon, related to the classical view of the openning of the magnetic field, is presented as a possible explanation of the appearence of the bright front.
