  • They can exhibit temperature of many millions of degrees and
    energies the equivalent of a billion megatons of TNT.
  • However, they happen on all scales we can see, and small ones might cause the heating of the corona.
  • They appear in all wavelengths of the light and are observed from the ground and in space.
